Linux Driver

NOTE: This information is older and may not be up to date for today's Linux platforms.

Thank you to Mr.Vojtech Pavlik, we now have a Linux driver for all of our WingMan® gameport devices: (Digital protocol). That includes:

  • Logitech® WingMan® Interceptor™
  • Logitech® WingMan® Formula™
  • Logitech® WingMan® Extreme™ Digital
  • Logitech® WingMan® Gamepad
  • Logitech® ThunderPad™ Digital
  • Logitech® CyberMan™ 2
  • Logitech® WingMan® Warrior™

The source code for the Linux Kernel 2.2 can be found at ftp://atrey.karlin.mff.cuni.cz/pub/linux/joystick.

For those who want to live on the development edge, the development releases with the latest WingMan® Digital devices code are at
ftp://atrey.karlin.mff.cuni.cz/pub/linux/joystick/devel/.

If you have any questions, comments, or bug reports send them to Mr.Vojtech Pavlik himself.

You can also find a complete list of all the devices supported by his code at:

Most of the Logitech® USB devices (force feedback or not) are HID compliant and should work just fine through the Linux HID driver which is in all kernels 2.4 and above (see the kernel documentation for configuration options).  The non-HID USB devices (WingMan® Force and WingMan® Formula Force) have their own driver in the standard Linux kernel 2.4.

Force feedback on Linux is "under construction".  Here is a link about force feedback for Linux that you may find interesting:

ExclamationReminder: Support is NOT available for this driver through our standard telephone, electronic mail or online service support systems.
