How to get to the setup screen:
From the main menu, select Options.
Select Driving.
Choose Player 1.
Select Controller Assignments.
Notes about setup:
When you select a command and the game prompts you to push a button or axis, you will get a short time period to do so.
When you assign an axis, you will see an arrow next to the axis name. If you see a little arrow, it means it is using the half axis in that direction. If you see a big arrow, it means it is using the full axis. In most cases, you will want half-axis for steer left and steer right. If you see a big arrow it means the analog stick or wheel was not centered when you assigned it.
Setting up a wheel:
For Steering Mode, choose Wheel.
When you assign Steer Left/Right, make sure you turn the wheel HARD left/right. Do not turn it slowly, the game will not assign the axis.
It does not matter if you use separate or combined pedals. The game setup will figure out whether to use full or half axis for each pedal.
Force Feedback: The default FFB is set at 70%. If your wheel supports FFB, the game will automatically enable it.
Transmission: On the same setup screen, changing the Gearbox option will toggle between automatic and manual transmission.
Advanced Options: The default settings for a wheel's advanced options are good, but you may want to increase saturation to take up the whole axis. For a wheel you want no deadzone.
Setting up a gamepad:
For Steering Mode, choose Pad.
If using the Logitech® Rumblepad™ or Cordless Rumblepad™, make sure the throttle is centered before you assign commands.
Other information:
It was found that when using a Wingman Force 3D joystick, the game is very sensitive to its movement when you assign a command to it. You must be sure to have the joystick centered before assigning a command. If it is not, it may assign the wrong axis to the command. It may be a little tricky but this joystick does work with this game.
