Using the Profiler SHIFT functionality allows you to (almost) double the number of buttons on your controller.
Profiler allows a second set of button assignments on a Logitech® digital game controller to be programmed. This is accomplished by toggling between shifted and unshifted button assignments. This is not to be confused with the "Shift" key on the keyboard. The terms "Shifted" and "Unshifted" are simply used to designate two separate sets of button assignments. To assign and use a shift button, please do the following:
Open Profiler by clicking "Start" > "Programs" > "Logitech" > "Gaming Software" > "Launch Logitech Gaming Software".
Click the "Select Game" button.
Click the game profile you wish to add shifted button assignments to. The name of the profile selected should now appear on the "Profile" button.
Click on the button you wish to assign (i.e. Trigger, Button 2, Button 3,...).
Click "Assign as Shift Button".

The button that has been assigned as a shift button should now say "SHIFT" on it. Also, a new button will appear in the Profiler. When it is clicked, this button will toggle between "Shifted Commands" and "Unshifted Commands". It is now possible to assign two different commands to each of the gaming devices' buttons. When assigning button commands in Profiler, be sure to note if "Shifted Commands" or "Unshifted Commands" is being displayed on the "SHIFT" button. In game play, you can toggle between the "Shifted Commands" and "Unshifted Commands" by pressing the button on the Logitech gaming device that you have assigned as a "Shift" button.
When editing shifted commands, the button text will appear red:
