That sounds like it could be a USB problem, and it looks like you have a VIA chipset.

See if this helps:

Hi there. I've got a problem with my Wingman RumblePad. The following problem only appears while game(e.g. Colin McRae Rally 2.0, Need for Speed Porsche or Sportscar GT)is loaded, not on Windows desktop. The Pad works fine for about half an hour but then my PC suddenly jerks and the Pad does no longer react. When I press the pause button and then continue playing it usually works again (for about 20mins and without Force Feedback) but sometimes it doesn't react anymore. I've already tried reataching the device but without any results. The Gamepad is no longer available in the system settings so I have to reboot my computer. What can I do?????
My computer specs are:
Athlon C 1,33Ghz
512 MB DDR-Ram
MSI K7T Pro-R Mainboard
Seagate 40GB HD
Leadtek Winfast Geforce 2Pro(64MB DDR-Ram)
Terratec Soundsystem DMX
Windows 98 SE
And I am using the version 3.60 of Wingman software.

What is the title of the game and which version of Wingman software are you using? Do you have any other controllers besides the Logitech one? Also, which controller do you have? RumblePad?

I understand your frustration, and often wish things were much easier. The Profiler can help out with some games using it's remapping tricks, but in the end a lot of it comes down to how the game was designed to be controlled by the developers.

While we do have a lot of profiles included in the Profiler by default, and we do post updated profiles to this web page.. many games still require configuration or tweaking within the game itself. Unfortunately, there's not much we can do in these areas since we can't alter or reprogram the games.

Hey Mike, thanks for being more than patient with me, It is Sept.8 and I still have problems I havn`t played much before I lost the settings some how by me messing with it.
This is sooo agravating why can`t "Logitech" come up with a cool downloading - default for different games. That way morons like me can click and play.

Hi Rich,

Rainbow Six is a mouse-based game that is designed to play with a mouse and keyboard. There is no joystick or gamepad based interface available within this game.

With our Profiler software, you can remap some of the keyboard keys to your controller in order to use the gamepad controls within the game. The profile that comes with the game has options for all of the pre-assigned keyboard commands. However, since Rainbow Six uses the mouse for turning left/right and looking up/down there are no pre-assigned keyboard keys for these commands, and thus no command in the default profile.

To use the gamepad to turn left/right and look up/down requires a little effort on your part. First, you have to go into options within Rainbow Six and assign these four controls to keyboard commands, rather than mouse. Second, you will have to edit the profile in the Profiler and create new commands which reference the additions you just made in the game itself.

If you require assistance with these changes to the game and the profile, please let me know.

Good luck!

On the profiler I can almost set up the game pad to my liking,But with the Rainbow six game I can`t turn left or right / has no option..
never the least I can move forward,, or backward,,
or even sidestep,, but I can`t turn my head..
Maybe I ought to get Microsoft game pad..
