Further to my previous post.....I managed to fix the problem. It's nothing to do with the drivers, the game or anything else software related. As I thought some time ago, it was hardware related. I was pointed to a website with an article about pedal problems. If you go to http://web.axelero.hu/mozso, click on Momo Racing Repair/English, scroll down and click on Accelerator pedal fix (no more spikes)......there is a detailed explanation complete with photos and how to fix.
It is, in my opinion, is a less than satisfactory fix but it will do for now. If they start playing up again I will go to an engineering shop and get some shim sheeting and do the job properly. What has come out of all this is that I am less than impressed with Logitech's build quality. Where the pedal spindles sit, instead of having a surface the same width as the spindle they have two ridges about 2-3mm wide (max). Since the whole unit is injection moulded plastic it would have been soooo easy to incorporate a spindle-width surface top and bottom in the moulding......sort of like a conrod bearing. It wouldn't need a bearing shell, just a decent area to support the pedal. Luckily enough it is an easy enough fix for anyone mechanically minded.

It seems I'm not the only one then. My Momo worked fine for a few months and then I started having the same pedal calibration issues. When I bought the wheel I was running Win98SE, Athlon 1400, Biostar mobo (Ktt chipset)........since then I have upgraded to Win XP Pro (clean install), Abit NF7-S (N-force), AMD 2600 and the problem is still there.
I have uninstalled the 4.40 drivers (including Tom's removal guide published on NFBS), reinstalled 4.3....still did it. Reinstalled 4.4, installed the original pedal calibration utility which works for a while (10 min to an hour), then I have to leave the game, revert and reinstall the utility.
I have tried the new pedals utility which seems to work for longer but when I revert/reinstall this one I have to reboot as I get a message in the Game Controllers window saying the device is not functioning. I have used the Clear calibration utility.....nothing seems to work for more than a few hours.
Tonight was the last straw....I spent an hour just getting it to work before I could race. I mostly use the wheel for RD2 and it is easy to tell when the calibration goes because of the yellow throttle indicator. I also do MBWR but not much and it is difficult to tell because of the lack of an indicator.
I'm ready to chuck it in the cupboard and go buy some other brand ( I had a totally trouble-free MS joystick for over 5 years before I broke it) It doesn't look good for Logitech having so many people with the same problem and no proper fix (shouldn't need a fix....it should be right first time) seems to be forthcoming from them.

My pedals would not give full response, shows in replay in NR2003
Unplug and recalibrate helped a little for a little while
problem still there

try the patch on the beta page, that seems to work for a lot of people

I am having this problem as well. I have the latest wingman software (4.40) installed. I downloaded the beta utility mentioned below but it states that the update is already installed.
If I unplug the device from the USB port and plug it back in it works for a few minutes, then the problem starts again.
I´ve had the problem with several games: Colin Mcrae 3 and 4, www.Racer.nl, Need for Speed Underground.
Please help!
Thanks
