I'm getting the same results. To get a profile to work, you can go to the Global Profile Settings, select Apply Persistent Profile and set it for your Vampire profile. Remember to turn off the persistent profile once you're done playing Vampire.

I've set up a profile for Vampire The Masquerade but the game seems to override the profile software and fails to recognize any gamepad movements. This is with the RumblePad, 4.11.332 software, and Windows XP.
