Thanks for your very prompt reply Tom. I'll contact Logitech support early this week.

Thanks and Regards,
Allan

Hi Allan,

I completely agree with your assessement about either a failure in the motor (or motor driver) or in the power connector. I would be surprised if it were the power connector, as the wheel managed to switch to 200 and 900 degrees and that is driven from the 24V, just like the FF motor.

The firmware keeps blinking the left until it's done with it's calibration routine. It will stop doing this (but keep blinking) if the wheel is obstructed, and try again a few seconds later. In your case (unobstructed) it should definitely move. I can't think of any further debugging that can be done before taking it up with support.

Sorry about the hassle.

Hi,

I picked up a Driving Force Pro about a month ago. Fantastic wheel! However last night I went into a game and noticed it didn’t want to work. I looked down at the wheel and then noticed that the left LED was blinking while the right LED was solid. Now after having a look around this site it appears that this would indicate that there is a power problem with my wheel.

Thinking that it might be the power adapter that was causing the problem I swapped the power adapter with one from my old black Logitech momo racing wheel (same spec adapter). However it made no difference.

I then uninstalled the wheel and reinstalled the wheel, tried a few different USB ports however regardless of what I tried the left LED continued to blink and despite the wheel in the gaming control panel saying it is connected the wheel refused to work in any games or in the control panel.

Overnight I left the wheel unplugged then this morning I reconnected the wheel to my computer. I noticed that once I connected it up the wheel tried to go through its self-calibration however it couldn’t physically turn the wheel. The wheel started to move very slightly to the right and I could hear a vibration coming from inside the unit then it stoped trying to move and started to alternately flash both LED’s.

Intrigued by this I started to manually turn the wheel the same way it would during calibration. I turned it all the way to the right, then all the way to the left then back to the centre. The 200-degree mode then locked in and I turned it as far as I could to the right then as far as I could to the left and returned it back to the centre. The wheel then returned back to the 900-degree mode and both LED’s went solid.

I then went into a game to see what effect this had and noticed that the wheel was recognised by the game however there was no steering feel. Instead of the force feedback motor turning the wheel all I got was a very limp vibration and a rattle through the wheel that wasn’t powerful enough to turn the wheel. I then exited out of the game and unplugged the wheel.

Now to me it sounds like there is either something wrong with the force feedback motor or there is something wrong with the power connector (i.e. the wheel is not able to get any power). Is there anything else I should try before I contact Logitech technical support in Australia? Has anyone else seen a similar problem to this before?

Thanks,
Allan
